The project aims at helping animals, that have found themselves in a critical situation as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war, through the support of zoos, shelters, and rehabilitation centers.
As a result of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, many zoos were destroyed in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and other oblasts. Hundreds of animals died of starvation in the territories occupied by the Russians (please read the tragic story about 300 dead dogs in the Borodyanka shelter).
Most Ukrainian shelters for animals found themselves in an extremely difficult situation due to a lack of funds for catering and medical treatment. The problem of evacuating homeless animals from the combat points and supporting the internally displaced persons’ pets has become acute.
The possibilities of the available in the western oblasts of Ukraine shelters for tailed war hostages (“Sirko's Home”, “Rescued Animals' Shelter” and others) are very limited: the cages are overcrowded, and there is a catastrophic lack of money.
Our Organization calls on everyone who cares to join the rescue of the destitute Ukrainian animals. Even the smallest donation is essential because it saves from starvation and provides shelter and medical care.
